Home Information Packs
Since 2007 all properties being marketed for
sale must have a Home Information Pack (HIP). Properties that were already being
marketed for sale before the appropriate date making a HIP mandatory are exempt
currently until 1st August 2008.
There has been a great deal of controversy over HIPs with arguments both for and
against them. |

What is clear is that the law requires all properties newly marketed
to have a HIP and failure to comply can result in financial penalties.
Wainwright Estate Agents were actively involved in the debates prior to the implementation
of HIPs and we have produced our own HIPs since the very outset of the new legislation.
The contents of a HIP are predominantly of a legal nature and we are therefore well
qualified as specialist property solicitors to prepare a HIP for your property sale.
We use only fully qualified Domestic Energy Assessors to survey your home and produce
the non-legal element of the HIP, the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). The
completed pack is assembled as a PDF document which is secure against any third
party making changes to the documents contained in the HIP. The whole process typically
takes about 1 week to complete but your property can be marketed as soon as you
have given us instructions to prepare the HIP thus avoiding any delay.
Our costs for producing a HIP for Vendors selling their property through our Estate
Agency is just £299* inc. VAT.
